    Why Camellia?

Camellia Culinary isn’t a traditional dietetic practice. Our business hosts community cooking and pediatric food exposure classes, offers meal prepping and meal planning for local families, and also provides dietetic counseling for kids. We believe cooking and hands-on time with food is essential for nutritional autonomy. Because we spend so much time cooking, we make recommendations that are feasible, cost- and time-effective, and most importantly, delicious!

Join Us in Class!

We can’t wait to meet you and your kiddo in food exposure class. These classes offer a fun opportunity for your child to engage with new foods in a low-pressure environment.

Help your kids form a healthy relationship with food

Little humans are wired with food neophobia- “the reluctance to eat, or avoidance of, new foods.” This is an important remnant of evolution! Wariness of new foods has protected us from eating poisonous and spoiled items for millennia.

We know that kids often require at least eight exposures to a new food before enjoying its taste. Kids who are neurodivergent may require many more exposures to accept new foods.

Our Process

We create a fun and relaxed environment for your little one to interact with a diverse array of foods.

  • We offer opportunities for kids to engage with all five senses:

    • they will see all colors of the rainbow,

    • hear the sounds of cooking and eating,

    • smell new spices and flavors,

    • feel many textures- crunchy, silky, rough, squishy…

    • and take a taste if they feel like it!

  • We offer an array of food exposures in a cost-effective manner.

  • We are trained in infant-adult Heimlich and CPR for the safety of your children and for your peace of mind.

Now Partnered with Emerge Pediatric Therapy

For over 20 years, Emerge Pediatric Therapy has been deeply committed to improving the lives of children and their families through customized occupational, speech, and physical therapy. They not only work 1:1 with our clients, but also empower the caregivers and community around the child in how to best support and create the best life for that client.

Feeding Therapy

Our occupational therapists primarily use the SOS Approach to Feeding to support children who have significantly restricted diets. SOS works to increase the range of foods that a child will eat. This program can be implemented in individual or group settings and includes a significant parent involvement and education component to ensure home carryover.
